We'd love to welcome you and your child to Wynnum General Gordon Kindergarten. It is important to enrol your child as soon as possible after birth.
What year can my child attend:
Children can participate in a Pre-Prep (Kindergarten) program in the year before they start Prep, at school. This means children must have turned 4 years of age by 30 June in the year they attend kindy at Wynnum General Gordon.
Check the table below to see which year your child is due to attend Wynnum General Gordon.
CURRENTLY NO VACANCIES FOR 2019
We can guarantee your child a place at our centre for 2022 onwards.
We cannot guarantee your child a place for Pre-Prep in 2020 and there is still a chance of a place for 2021.
Bookings are taken at the centre on the first Tuesday of each month from 9:30 to 11:00am during School Terms.
Please download a booking form from the Register page. Once completed you may bring it along at the above mentioned time or mail it to us. If mailing, we will forward you a receipt via return mail. A non-refundable booking fee of $11 (incl gst) is required per child. The Centre accepts cash or cheque for this fee. Internet payments are available after contacting the Centre (3396 2776) for bank details.
Fees are $30.80 per day - five day fortnight, $38.50 per day - four day fortnight ($770 per term, 4 terms per year)
Fees are payable in advance at the beginning of each term. Fees are strictly payable by the due date at the commencement of each term. A late fee is imposed at a rate of $10 per week until the fees are paid. Fees must be prepaid for the time a child is away on holidays (if taken during term time).
Fees are G.S.T exempt.
Term fees are inclusive of incursions (puppet shows, presentations, visitors to the centre).
A $100 Annual Membership/Confirmation Fee is paid at the time a place is offered to your child. Each family is therefore a member of the Wynnum General Gordon Community Pre-School and Kindergarten Association Inc. and a family member is encouraged to attend committee meetings. You will then have voting rights at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in November.
Holders of Health Care Cards & Pension Cards will be eligible for a subsidy.
Government funding may be available to support children with a disability to access our kindergarten program.
Whilst we endeavour to keep this information about fees and availability as accurate and up to date as possible, it is subject to change without notice.
$770 per term
We operate four kindergarten (pre-prep) groups of 22 children, with a total capacity of 88 (44 on any given day). Each group has their own fully qualified, registered Early Childhood teacher and fully qualified assistant. A parent is often on roster as well, so our adult-child ratios exceed the national standards.
All the children are aged between 3.5 and 4.5 years at the beginning of the year.
Each group of children is constant, with the only changes being if a family moves and a child is withdrawn. Many long-lasting friendships are formed by parents in these shared circumstances.
We operate a 5 day fortnight for 3 groups and 2 long days for 1 group over a 40 week year, roughly in line with the state school system.
