Getting to know Mrs Kim Perkins

A big hello from me to all the wonderful Wynnum General Gordon families, I’m Kim Perkins and I work together with Miss Kate, Miss Aimee and the wonderful children and families in the St Helena group.

My passion for working with children in education began while working in Vacation and Afterschool Care programs many years ago.

From there I decided to become a Primary School Teacher and enjoyed teaching for five years in grades 2,3,5 and 7, before having children. I am a super proud mum of two boys aged 10 and 13.

While my own children attended kindergarten, I developed a love of Early Childhood education. I began working at Wynnum General Gordon Kindy in 2015 in an assistant role with Suzanne Johns and during that time completed an Early Childhood Bridging course for registered teachers.

Working with Kindergarten children is where my true passion lies and every day, I feel excited to be part of your children’s learning journey.

The Kindy year is certainly a very special one and it is a privilege and pleasure to work together with the talented and dedicated staff, wonderful parents and children at Wynnum General Gordon Kindergarten to create learning environments that are creative, spark interest and are full of nature’s wonders.

I believe that each child brings with them to Kindy a deep curiosity about their world and I love helping provide children with opportunities to develop this sense of wonder.

For fun, I love spending time with my family, exploring the  great outdoors in our caravan or little boat. I also enjoy walking along the beautiful Wynnum waterfront with my dog Roxy!!

The beach is my happy place!
